WISH LIST FOR ORPHAN KITTENS
Below is a list of things that we need desperately in the rearing of orphan kittens. We have included some links to places on line where they can be obtained, but you may have other sources as well. If you can donate any of these items it would be greatly appreciated!!! Items can be shipped directly to the farm at: Spring Farm CARES, 3364 State Rt. 12, Clinton, NY 13323
Gerber Baby Food - 2nd Foods - Chicken (that is the one flavor we find the kittens seem to accept most readily. We can use this to ease them over to solid food and also for administering medications when needed.) We go through cases of this each year.
Play Pens - Petyard XT or Super Yard XT (human version) - this particular kind only please! We have made special tops that fit these pens exactly and work perfectly for us. These work great for giving the kittens more room than a crate, until we can move them into a room or they get adopted. Two sets make a complete pen and we never have too many. There are two links below where they can be found on line. There is one version at Petsmart, packaged for animal use, and the exact same product can be found at Toys R Us and often less expensive.

Paper towels - again, we can never have too many!
Old blankets, sheets, towels - we go through these like crazy with kittens and other animals as well.
Heating Pads - we go through lots of these each year as they tend to wear out and not last long

15TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY
OF THE SPRING FARM CARES FIRE
24 Animals perished in the blaze. 17 cats, 4 dogs, and 3 parakeets. Two cats and 2 dogs got out to safety and have since also passed away. All of them left us a legacy of moving forward with our hopes and dreams. All of them are remembered in the very breath of the farm. Although we moved on without them, it is because of them that we knew we must continue forward. In 15 years, we have done a lot and their legacy lives on always in the work we do. With a moment of silence, we give tribute to their lives and our memories of the joy we shared with them and for what each one of them taught us about giving, loving, and living.
As of 12/28/08 : Your donations have now paid for over half of this project! (These figures are based on the total cost of the project LESS grants/incentives. In other words, this is our out of pocket cost.)

Watch your donations for our Environmental Project Fund go to work. Many of you have contacted us asking us if you could donate and request that your donations be put to the construction of our windmill project. The answer is a resounding YES. See our Alternative Energy Page for updates and for the complete story and genesis of our environmental project. Please note that no funds are taken from animal care or our spay/neuter fund to pay for this project. We are using donations, bequests, and grants solely allocated for this specific project. In order to complete this project, we are taking a loan from our invested funds. So even after you see the windmills erected on the farm, we will be fundraising to replenish the money we borrow to get them up and running.
